Inside Out is a wholesome feel good animated comedy. A colourful family film that brings to life your inner feelings and thoughts.
Riley (voiced by Kaitlyn Dias) is your run of the mill happy 11 year old with a passion for hockey, but her world turns upside-down when she and her parents move to San Francisco. This causes havoc with her emotions, queue the stars of the film – Joy, Anger, Fear, Sadness and Disgust.
Amy Poehler can do no wrong in my eyes and she is the perfect person to play the lead emotion in this movie ‘Joy’. Perfectly partnered with SADNESS (voiced by Phyllis Smith), these two emotions provide countless laughs as they have to explore the far corners of Riley’s mind and restore order and emotional balance.
This film gives a great and imaginative take on what goes on inside our heads. I am sure it would even be therapeutic to some members of the public on how to tackle different emotions and how to overcome difficult times and stubborn mindsets.
A cute movie and although aimed at children would still see parents and the older members of the audience laughing and leaving the cinema in a happy mood. Good work Joy 😉
I would give it 3 punches from an adults point of view but 4 for the kids and big kids at heart out there.
