Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb. Released December 2014. Starring Robin Williams, Ben Stiller, Rebel Wilson.
A good easy to watch film with some good laughs. It was nice to see Robin Williams in action again although this was his last film.
With a change in scenery we see the Stone of Ra and our favourite characters at the Natural History museum in England. The tablet due to some un explained corrosion seems to not be working at full capacity and the only way to fix this is to go and see Ra’s family and creator of the tablet at the London museum. Meeting some new characters on the way we are both educated in history and see some good humour on the way . Rebel wilson is always welcome in a movie, although not her funniest role she was a nice addition to the movie. I also enjoyed the addition of Lancelot ( played by Dan Stevens) who gave us some action and comedy value. A lovely mix of special effects and make up is used to bring some historic figures to life.
Ben Stiller playing his usual funny movie guy character ( Larry in this instance ) but if it isn’t broken don’t fix it I say. Again great dynamics between Owen Wilson and Steve Coogan as Jedediah and Octavius. As a huge small animal fan Crystal the Monkey provides a lot of the laughs for the movie as we see Dexter again.
A movie for all the family, funny and somewhat educational and just a good no brainer movie.
